Background 

In most churches it's no secret that current structure is broken.  Voluneers are becomming more and more scarce, qualifications for being leadership are sinking lower and lower, and congregatational energy levels in many churches are plummeting as hope for the present and future continues to dry up.  In an effort to confront the dysfunction of current church structures many congregations grudgingly implement by-law to keep boards and committees afloat - but such changes only manage maintain a structure stranded on life-support.  Churches need radical, systematic, change - but have lost the energy and vision to see where God might be calling their fellowship.  Enter Designed in Mission.  

This six session series, meeting one Saturday a month, is an extended conversation with 12 Christian leaders from a variety of theological perspectives - yet all are working with congregations to envision a future that is faithful and living.  Each of the conversation participants have made the decision  that the structure of the Church must flow from, and empower, it's Mission.  CrossPointings.org and the Central Baptist Church of Riverton-Palmyra hope that the continuing conversation of Designed in Mission will empower churches to creatively, and faithfullly, allow Jesus to form them around the shared Mission of Christ and his Kingdom!

Participants are encouraged to bring a lunch in order to continue the conversation after the formal session.  Child care will be provided, and an offering will be taken to be split between each session's speakers.
