paint a psalm
Purpose: To allow people the opportunity to creatively meditate on one of the Psalms.
Materials Needed:
  • A Print-Out of a Psalm, mounted an presented for easy reading.
  • "Butcher Paper" to cover the table
  • Various paints
  • Paint brushes
  • Cups of water (to wash the brushes)
  • Paper Plates (to pour the paint on)

  • Cover the table with the "butcher paper."
  • Post the Psalm so all participants can read it easily.
  • Set out the paints, water, plates, and brushes in various positions for use.
Practice:
  • Have Participants come and read over the Psalm several times (shorter Psalms work best).
  • Encourage participants to meditate on the images presented in the Psalm.
  • As Participants meditate, have them paint the images that are most speaking to their hearts.
