Purpose: To encourage worshippers to remember othes in prayer on a daily basis.
Materials Needed:
- Wooden blocks, painted on all four sides with "chalkboard paint"
- Chalk
- "Prayer Cards" (click here for our example)
- Print out of Scriptures encouraging people to pray for one another.
- Intructions for the prayer station printed out and mounted for easy reading.
Setup:
- Stack the blocks at one end of the table.
- Place the chalk near the blank blocks.
- Post the scripture passages for easy reading.
- Place the "prayer cards" near the center of the table.
Practice:
- Have worshippers read the posted Scriptures and spend some time
meditating on who, specifically, they might spend the week in prayer
for.
- After deciding on who they will pray for, have worshippers pick
up an empty block and write the name of the individual on one of it's
faces.
- When the block has been "named," have worshippers stack the blocks at the other end of the table, with the names facing the worship space.
- As a reminder, encourage worshippers to fill out a "prayer card"
to take with them - have them keep it near over the course of the week
as they pray.
